Yes I am a mother of a "official teenager"! MItchel turned 14 on Monday and jeesh I feel like I've been hit with a ton of bricks!!
No he did not get his drivers permit yet but that will happen in a few weeks... SO NOT ready for that either :(
ok so his birthday was Monday, on Tuesday we (Jer and I) got him his present that he wanted... which was a drum set! CRAZY I know!! We got him a beginner set and jeesh I'm about ready to throw it out the window everytime its struck with a stick... just CRAZY LOUD! and its set up in our addition... so it echos throughout the house!!
Teenage hormones kicking in! THINK SO! Tonight I about lost my cool. I went for a drink with a friend to get out of the house for a bit, Jer is in NY until tomorrow... Mitchel calls me all in a frantic...because Issac's friend Quinton was chasing him and his friend Danny with a stick... whelp... whatever!! GOSH drama!!!!!!!!!! Thought the world was gonna end the way he sounded on the phone... then I get here and everybody acted like nothing happened... oh I was PISSED! Swear sometimes these boys act like girls... drama drama drama!! So then its like 10ish... town curfew is 10! I told Mitchel to come in the house and he got all bullheaded... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What am I in for in the years to come ?? So not ready for these days coming upon me.
Oh and did I forget to mention he has a little gf now too? YEAH! Flipping out about that a little! Had the little talk with him about
1st crushes, 1st "love", and reminded him that he is only 14! The little gal he is dating happens to be our LONG TIME babysitter, Molly's younger sister, sweet girl but they are both young and they need to remember that. Oh to be young again... huh?
Boy I just can't go anywhere leaving teenage boys home alone... when will the babysitting ever stop? Molly I guess I may have to hire you for a lifetime :) ... SERIOUSLY! when do you learn to let go and let them work out their little drama situations like big boys? Issac is only 12 and somedays I honestly think he handles situations far better than his older brother... can't kids just be kids and have fun these days without drama?
Ok so I'm done ranting about teenage drama... what's been going on here? well a whole lot of nothing! I've actually been kinda laid back this week and frankly LAZY :( I finally did some heavy duty cleaning today and some laundry catch up... have it all washed and folded... but needs to be all put away... I'll get that done tomorrow. Other news? Easter weekend is coming up I think Jer and I are taking the kids away for the weekend... not sure on destination but we are going somewhere. This is the last weekend for Sundown so the kids will close that chapter until next season... kinda sad for them since they both love it SO much!
Next week... soccer practice resumes as well as track practice starting for Mitchel... hello busy busy Spring for the Miller's!
Tomorrow I am meeting with Tory to talk "puppy" I'm so so excited to get this process rolling! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!
The boys may hit Sundown tomorrow... they haven't decided for sure yet... weather pending as it sounds too now... HOPE HOPE we don't get any snow!!!
Until I blog again, wish you all a great Easter weekend! and hope the Bunny finds you all!!!

Gee Lis, give him some credit, he's already been a teenager for a year now! :-)
Your kids are older than mine, so I am looking up to you for advice! I always just hit them where it hurts. I take away a cell phone, a video game console or whatever means the most to them. Don't get mad or frustrated - GET EVEN. Am I evil?
Oh, Jenn...I'm so with you. My sweet, even tempered baby boy has turned into a snotty, attitude-filled 5 yr old! I've been paying attention lately to his "important toys" so I know what to take from him when he presents said attitude.
Yes well aware of my teenager... but now he's a teenager interested in girls... just wait your day is coming :)
I got even took his cell phone away along with computer... it'll get easier I hope he just needs to understand "who's boss" sometimes and I will get even as you girls say :)
